Thank you mom

Kendra some times has a lot of energy and will repeat exactly what I told her not to do with a smile and a squeal. Though she is very polite.  She will often repeat "thank you mom" until she knows for sure I had heard her.  She'll often ask with a please. Very cute when she does it.

Kendra has been talking a LOT.  She says.

etc.  I know there are more that I'm missing, because she try's to copy a lot of words we say. 

Eyelashes

Aubree says that before Kendra was born we no know her a boy.  Her got out and her a girl.  Her got theses (pointing to her eyelashes).  I guess she has seen enough movies and books that they have  eyelashes on the girls but not the boys. 

Kendra's 1 year

Kendra at one year

-Biting and carrying things in her mouth (our little doggy). 

-Loves bath time, hates getting out. 

-Camera shy, will smile for a brief moment and then turn her head away and purposely avoid the camera (sometimes smirking knowing she is avoiding me). 

-sitting on things or trying to climb higher, climbing in her car seat.

-baby dolls and hugging them. 

-bouncing & dancing.  

-she can sign more and all done. 

-I have caught her trying to copy me a few times.  Like drying something. 

-opening cupboards. 

Walking: up until now she used to crawl until about 4ft away and then stand up to walk to me. Now she mostly walks slowly but if she wants to get somewhere fast she'll still crawl. 

Standing and a walking

Kendra decided to attempt standing on Christmas Day.  We all cheered her on so she decided to then take her first step that night since she had quite a few cheer leaders.  She is determined and keeps practicing standing. 

Know what I want

When I try to give Kendra a toy (when in the midst of a bunch of toys) a lot of the times she ignores me and reaches for a different one.  She definitely knows what she wants.  I don't think Aubree was this way.  I think she usually grabbed the toy I was giving her. 

Settled

So funny the little quirks of each kid.  I've noticed that Kendra settles down for bed much easier if she has something in her hand.  Same with when I change her diaper.  She is much more cooperative when I have given something to hold. 

Kendra sleeps

Kendra has been so much easier to put to sleep. When she was a baby I often feed her and set her down so she could watch us.  She'd put herself to sleep.  Now she will go to sleep easy watching us from her car seat (fully strapped in) at day care, or as soon as I sit down on the rocking chair with a blanket and a binky she lays her head down.  SO easy. 

Kendra's birth

Since Aubree was such a big baby and so close to c-section my Dr. let me do an induction at 39 weeks the 27th.  It was way worth it. This delivery went way smoother and half the time.  They started pitocin at 7:15am the pump had a little issues till 7:30am and then she was born by 12:24pm.  

I was doing okay without the epidural until he broke my water.  I was able to breathe through the contractions.  It was funny because after I went to the restroom the contractions dropped off.  They were hardly noticeable.  After he broke my water about 20mins later I felt the burning from quickly increasing in dialation. I decided I really wanted the epidural.  Which getting it is good for me cause I tear with the larger babies. 

7:15 - Pitocin

7:35 - 4.75 dialated 

10:45 - broke my water

11:30 - finished getting the epidural 

12:00 - dialated to an 8

12:12 - dialated to a 10

12:24 - Kendra born 8lbs 3oz 20 1/2 in long. 

She has dark hair like Daddy and Aubree had when they were born.  I'm curious to see if it goes blonde like theirs also or stays dark. She has shorter eye lashes, so I think she's taking after me on that one.  Her eyes seem darker then what I remember Aubree's looked like.  She does look a lot like what Aubree looked like as a baby so I'm curious to see how much they are the same.
